Your Platform for Greatness

I mentioned on Twitter the following piece of wisdom: "Just because you start at the bottom doesn't mean you are at a low level. You are on your platform for greatness. This is your foundation." @LaurenYvonneTX

The bottom is the beginning. The beginning is your foundation. You can't get to point Z if you never start at point A. You can't reach your goals if you never put in the work. You can't get to the top of the ladder if you never step foot on the lower rungs.

The person who is a summer intern may be the Chief Executive Officer in fifteen years. The individual who just learned how to plant a rose bush may end up on television, in seven years, advertising his or her award-winning gardening book. The person who recently learned how to bake bread may become the head chef at a nationally recognized restaurant in twenty years.

You can't skip over the steps required to make your dreams come true. That bottom level keeps you grounded. That bottom level is what makes your dreams solid. If you don't have a beginning, then you won't have an end. The end game is where you can fully enjoy the fruits of your efforts. Never look down on where you came from ... Look forward to where you are going. What looks low now is what is going to help take you to higher places. You won't regret owning your platform for greatness.
